Statement of Doctrine

We affirm the existence of one triune God, creator and sustainer of all things. He exists eternally and co-equally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence while distinct in persons. We deny any other concept of God to be orthodox, and warn that any deviation amounts to idolatry.

We affirm the Father to be the first person of the Trinity. He is the source of all creation. The Son is eternally generated from Him. The Holy Spirit proceeds eternally from the Father and the Son.

We affirm Jesus Christ to be the second person of the Trinity, miraculously conceived of the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. He lives eternally with two distinct natures united in one person, the man Christ Jesus, God the Son. We deny the blasphemy that Jesus is the first created among all beings.

We affirm the Holy Spirit to be the third person of the Trinity. He is the agent of the Father in the giving of all life. He is active in the creation and ordering of the universe. He is the agent of inspiration and regeneration. He is the restrainer of sin and the sanctifier of all believers. We deny the blasphemy that He is not a person or not divine.

We affirm the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be supernatural revelation. Men who were moved by God the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible. It is therefore inerrant in its original composition. We deny human error by the authors marred divine revelation. All scripture must be interpreted using the historical, grammatical, and literal method.

We affirm that all people are conceived in sin. Adam, the first man, willfully sinned and brought sin and death to all men. Men are therefore by nature depraved. God is holy and will punish all sinners. All without Christ are under the condemnation of God and subject to the punishment of eternal death. We deny the intrinsic goodness of man. He is therefore in no position to save himself.

We affirm that Jesus Christ offered Himself a sacrifice for the sins of the world by the will of God. He met the demands of the Father for the judgment of sin by His substitutionary atonement on the cross. He died a literal death for sin. He was buried, and rose again literally and bodily on the third day. He then ascended into heaven where He now intercedes on behalf of all believers. We deny the blasphemy that Christ's shed blood is not full atonement for the sins of the world, and we deny the blasphemy that only Christ's spirit arose and not His body.

We affirm that salvation is given freely by faith and is eternally secure to those who repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ personally by faith. Once saved, believers are indwelt and sanctified by the Holy Spirit, and will demonstrate the proof of their conversion by their good works. Those who do not accept Jesus Christ by faith in repentance of their sins are without excuse and will be consigned to eternal torment in hell. We deny that since God is love He will not allow anyone to go to hell. The love of God is proved through the great sacrifice He was willing to make to rescue people from hell.

We affirm the Church to be a local assembly of believers unified under the lordship of Christ, who honor the Word of God, who are disciplined if needed, who faithfully administer the ordinances of believer's baptism and the Lord's Table. A church is self-governing and functions through the ministry of gifts given to the Church by the Holy Spirit to every believer. Its officers are pastors and deacons. We deny the sign gifts were intended for the edification of the Church other than in the context of the authentication of the Apostles and their ministry for the building of the foundation of the Church. We believe this to be the clear teaching of the New Testament.

We affirm the imminent return of Jesus Christ for all believers. It will be followed by seven years of tribulation culminating in the return of Christ in glory to establish His one thousand literal year kingdom on earth. Following His one thousand year reign on earth Christ will raise the unsaved, judge them according to their works, and separate them from God forever in hell. We deny allegorical interpretations, which deny this will take place.
